Used for painting vehicles and other equipment of the German Army from July 1937 until July 1940 as a primary camouflage color (supplemented by RAL 7017 Dark Brown according to official regulations; however, it appears that many military vehicles were already painted in Dark Grey only during the Polish Campaign). From July 1940 until February 1943, used as the standard overall camouflage color.
